In September 2023, a group from Portugal travelled to Germany to engage with the creators of Globalfield Berlin. They share a mutual interest in land regeneration and promoting sustainable land use practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Global Field project <\/a>originated from an assessment of the Earth’s geography, particularly focusing on the 1.5 billion hectares of arable land available globally. This amounts to approximately 2000 m\u00b2 per person per year, encompassing all aspects of life: food consumption, clothing production, and the cultivation of crops for animal feed and biofuel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Berlin, a team established the first Global field, covering 2000 m\u00b2 to serve as a model for global land utilization patterns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Could the establishment of a 2000m\u00b2 field in Portugal catalyse community dialogue on sustainable consumption practices?<\/p>\n\n\n\n The local Portuguese associations Jardim do Mira and Project Earth<\/a> collaborated with the German Foundation for the Future of Agriculture<\/a> and the Regional Center for Education for Sustainable Development<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
